Overview

This is a solid, straight, well-loved example of Lancia's homologation special supercar. It is an early Evoluzione 1 car made in 1992, fitted with the waterspray bag in the boot. It is in original left-hand drive configuration - just how it should be say integrale purists - so has the fantastic steering feel from just 2.1 turns lock to lock. On a fast cross-country run there is nothing to beat it, the grip levels are extraordinary. Quite simply I wouldn't be selling it if I didn't need the funds to go rallying in this. I must be mad.

The car was subject to a clean HPI check in November 2004 and has not been crashed or stolen since, and does not have any credit owing.

Engine
The engine was fully reconditioned by Lancia specialists Prestocar in June 2004 and has only 10k kms on the clock since then. Oil pressure is perfect (4bar at 4k in 5th) with oil consumption being a fairly typical 1l per 1000 miles. The ecu has been fitted with a Prestocar 270bhp chip and fuel pressure has been adjusted accordingly. As such the turbo overboosts to 1.4bar before settling back. The car runs without any warning lights from the check panel.

Transmission
The gearbox and diffs are whine and shunt free, and the gear change is smooth. The clutch went in January 2005 and was replaced by an uprated Techno2 unit (the standard units are at their limit at 270bhp).

Suspension
The car runs on standard, recently replaced integrale dampers, fitted with uprated & lowered Final Edition springs, rear diff cradle and rear strut brace. Powerflex poly bushes have been fitted all round. The result is fabulous chassis response and body control. Although ride quality is slightly harsher with the poly bushes, i've only really notice this with rumble strips.

Brakes
The car has the standard 4-pot brembo calipers up front, fitted with tarox spiral grooved discs and EBC greenstuff pads, with standard discs and greenstuff pads on the rear. The car is a non-ABS model.

Wheels/Tyres
The car is available with either 15" original equipment alloys fitted with Toyo T1-R tyres, or with 16" Evo2 alloys with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres. The original space saver wheel is included.

Bodywork
The car is very solid, with no signs of rust. The windscreen was removed to treat rust on the scuttle panel 'properly' in January 2005. The front wings appear to be original and there is no sign of any accident damage. The rear spoiler is the original metal type, not the cheap plastic replica. The car has been winter-garaged for the past 2 years and used strictly as a second car in summer months only. The car is fitted with a Final Edition front grille and rear badge.

Interior
The original grey alcantara interior has been replaced with a black leather recaro integrale interior which is in excellent condition. The original parcel shelf is untouched (no speaker holes!) and the carpets are unmarked. A new Momo steering wheel has been fitted with a OMP spacer to get optimum driving position (its perfect!). Road legal Momo alloy pedals have also been fitted. Eyelet bolts have been fitted to allow use of harnesses for track days (of which i've done 2). All the electrics work apart from the fault noted below. It has a Blaupunkt Radio-Cassette playing through standard speakers.

Alarm/Immobiliser

A Clifford Concept 50x alarm & immobiliser is fitted to the car and comes complete with installation certificate. It is totally reliable, fully programmable and includes the following features;

  • Lifetime warranty
  • False alarm control & test
  • Anti code grabbing and random code encryption
  • 2-point immobiliser
  • Dual proximity sensor (fun for pedestrians!)
  • Glass tampering sensor
  • Central locking control
  • Thatcham evaluated & insurance approved

Known Faults
The only fault that I can report is that the rear n/s electric window doesn't work, and blows the fuse if used. I suspect this to be a trapped wire but have not had time to fix.
